Description

Aldolase is a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of dihydroxyacetone phosphate and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate to erythrose-4-phosphate and fructose-6-phosphate. It is found in all living cells, including bacteria, fungi, plants, and animals. Aldolase has been shown to have a role in the development of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) by regulating the expression of genes responsible for cell proliferation and differentiation. It is also involved in the pathogenic mechanism of cancer tissues by synthesizing ATP, which drives cancer growth.
