Product Information

- 1-Bromo-4-(Diethoxymethyl)Benzene
- 4-Bromobenzaldehyde Diethylacetal
4-Bromobenzaldehyde Diethyl Acetal (4BAEA) is a molecule that has been shown to have anti-cancer properties. 4BAEA inhibits the growth of estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, and also inhibits the growth of estrogen receptor-negative breast cancer cells. It also has been shown to inhibit the binding of estradiol to its receptor, which would make it an antagonist. The molecule is able to bind to the estrogen receptor by hydrogen bonding with a nitrogen atom on the side chain of phenylalanine and carboxyl group on the side chain of aspartic acid. This binding may account for its ability to inhibit cell proliferation. 4BAEA has also been found to be an at1 receptor antagonist, which may account for its anti-cancer properties.
