2-[4-(Isobutyl)phenyl]propionyl chloride is a racemic mixture of two enantiomers, the (2R)- and (2S)-enantiomers. It is a chlorine-containing organic compound with a substituted methyl group and an oriented substituent. The molecule has two carbonyl groups, one on each side of the ring, which are at opposite ends of the five-membered ring. The compound has a five-membered ring with a carbonyl group in the middle. 2-[4-(Isobutyl)phenyl]propionyl chloride is not active as an antipyretic agent because it does not have anti-inflammatory properties.
