2,3,4-Trichlorobenzenesulfonyl chloride is a selective reagent for the separation of chlorides by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). It is used in the analysis of industrial samples. The compound is prepared by reacting aminopropyl chloride with trichloromethanesulfonyl chloride. 2,3,4-Trichlorobenzenesulfonyl chloride has an ionic nature and can be used to separate ionic compounds. It also has a high selectivity for chlorides and can be used as a reagent for adsorption or reversed-phase HPLC.
