5H,6H,8H-Imidazo[2,1-c][1,4]oxazine is a formyl derivative of imidazo[2,1-c][1,4]oxazine. It is selective for the alpha subunit of DNA polymerase and has been shown to inhibit RNA synthesis in calf thymocytes. The compound also induces the formation of 8-hydroxylated metabolites that are subsequently excreted in urine.
