Description:

3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl acetate is a chromatographic organic solvent that can be used for the deployment of molecules. It has been shown to elute from silica gel using a perfusion system. The eluting solvent is usually water, but can also be an organic solvent such as methanol or ethanol. 3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl acetate has been used to coat metal surfaces and create antireflection coatings on silicon wafers. This coating is hydrophobic, which allows it to repel water and other polar solvents. It also contains hydroxy groups, which are important functional groups in many chemical reactions.
