Product Information
3-Methoxy-2H-isoquinolin-1-one is a prodrug that is metabolized to the active form, 3-methoxyisoquinoline. This compound has been shown to inhibit coagulation and the synthesis of serine proteases such as thrombin. It inhibits the formation of blood clots by inhibiting the conversion of fibrinogen into fibrin, which stabilizes the clot. 3-Methoxy-2H-isoquinolin-1-one also acts as an inhibitor for serine protease inhibitors such as plasmin and thrombin. The inhibition of these proteases leads to a decrease in inflammation caused by inflammation factors, including bradykinin, histamine, and serotonin.
