Product Information
(+)-Rhododendrol is a natural compound that has been found to be a potent inhibitor of the enzyme tyrosinase, which is involved in the production of melanin. It has been shown to have an effect on stem cells and to have immune-modulating effects. (+)-Rhododendrol inhibits the activity of tyrosinase by binding to its active site and preventing it from catalyzing the oxidation of L-tyrosine into DOPA, which is an essential precursor for melanin synthesis. The compound also inhibits cell factor (a protein involved in cell signaling) and may inhibit other enzymes involved in skin pigmentation. Preliminary studies suggest that this drug may be effective against leukoderma (white patches on the skin).
