Product Information
2,3-Dichloro-4-nitrophenol (2,3-DCNP) is a competitive inhibitor of tyrosine hydroxylase that has been used as an inorganic growth regulator. It binds to the enzyme at the substrate site and inhibits enzymatic activity by competitive inhibition. 2,3-DCNP has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth, but it is not selective for one type of bacteria over another. 2,3-DCNP has also been shown to be a synthetic precursor for dopamine.
