Product Information
3-(2-Methoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazole is a nitrate that has been used to synthesize ligands. 3-(2-Methoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazole can be demethylated by sodium methoxide in methanol to give the corresponding methyl ester. The methyl ester can be oxidized with potassium permanganate in acetic acid to give the corresponding ketone, which can then be reduced with lithium aluminum hydride and water to form the corresponding alcohol. This compound is an electron donor and is thus an electron acceptor. It also has a spectrum of interactions with metal ions, such as copper and iron. 3-(2-Methoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazole interacts with mononuclear transition metal complexes and tetradentate transition metal complexes, both of which are spectroelectrochemistry linkages.
