Zinc neodecanoate is a carboxylate salt of zinc and neodecanoic acid. It is used as a deodorizing additive in the production of polymers, plastics, and coatings. It is also used as an additive in the production of textiles, paper, paints, and adhesives. Zinc neodecanoate has been shown to have synergistic combinations with aluminium, which enhances its effectiveness against odors. The use of zinc neodecanoate can reduce odors caused by monocarboxylic acids and aromatic hydrocarbons found in petroleum products. This product has been shown to be effective for automotive applications such as sectioning, which reduces waste in the manufacturing process.
