Product Information
- 5-Tert-Butyl-2-Hydroxybenzene-1,3-Dicarbaldehyde
5-(tert-Butyl)-2-hydroxyisophthalaldehyde is a coordination compound that has a nitrogen atom in the imine group. The imine nitrogen atom coordinates with two metal ions, M1 and M2. The metal ion M1 activates the reaction while the metal ion M2 stabilizes it. 5-(tert-Butyl)-2-hydroxyisophthalaldehyde reacts with methanol in an acid environment to form a tetranuclear complex, which is characterized by fluorescence properties. Fluorescence techniques are used to detect this compound in high concentrations. A functional theory of 5-(tert-Butyl)-2-hydroxyisophthalaldehyde is proposed based on the coordination geometry and reaction mechanism.
