Product Information
Oleyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine (OEP) is a biocompatible polymer that has been used in the synthesis of PEG-PCL copolymers. OEP is soluble in water and can be used as a phase transition temperature regulator. This polymer has been investigated for its ability to inhibit neuronal death and induce apoptosis, which is an important mechanism for controlling disease activity. OEP has also been investigated for its potential use as an imaging agent or drug delivery system for cancer treatment. The polymerase chain reaction, one of the most common methods used to amplify DNA, uses OEP as a fluorescent probe during amplification reactions. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy technique can be used to measure the cytosolic Ca2+ concentration in cells treated with this polymer.
