Description:

2-Bromobenzene-1,3,5-triol is a chromatographic profile that was identified in macroalgae and marine organisms. It has been shown to possess bioactivities such as antidiabetic, antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and anticancer activities. The methodologies used to identify this compound include HPLC with UV detector at 210 nm and MS. 2-Bromobenzene-1,3,5-triol is also found in the marine organism Sciadopitys verticillata which is used for its phenolic content. It has been shown to inhibit aflatoxin production by Aspergillus flavus through competitive inhibition of the enzyme aflatoxin B synthase.
