Description:
6-Chloro-2,3-dihydro-3-phenyl-2-thioxo-1H-quinazolin-4-one is a chloride derivative of the quinazoline class. It has been shown to have anti cancer effects in vitro and in vivo. 6CQT is a potent inhibitor of DNA synthesis and viral replication. The molecule can be used as a synthetic tool for investigating hydrogen bonding interactions, xylene solubility, and amide bond formation. 6CQT has an antibacterial effect against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin resistant Enterococcus faecalis (VRE).
