Product Information
Methyl 7-hydroxy-naphthalene-1-carboxylate is a hydrocarbon that has been found in marine organisms. This compound has been produced by expressing the recombinant enzyme from Escherichia coli cells to convert naphthalene into methyl 7-hydroxy-naphthalene-1-carboxylate. The methyl group of this compound is synthesized from methylamine and formaldehyde, and the hydroxyl group can be generated by using hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant. The enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of naphthalene to methyl 7-hydroxy-naphthalene-1-carboxylate is an esterase.
