Product Information
2-Aminobenzenesulfonyl chloride is a chemical that inhibits the enzyme ido1, which is involved in the acetylation of 2-aminobenzoic acid. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on autoimmune diseases, such as type I diabetes and multiple sclerosis. The mechanism of inhibition may be due to the activation of acetyltransferase (AT) by sulfonamide antibiotics and the subsequent formation of N2-acetyl-L-kynurenine (L-AK). L-AK can then be converted into kynurenic acid, which inhibits protein synthesis by binding to glutamate receptors. 2-Aminobenzenesulfonyl chloride also has antiviral activity against HIV infection.
