Icariside B1 is a natural product that has been shown to have antibacterial and anticancer properties. Icariside B1 inhibits the growth of cancer cells by binding to megastigmane, a protein found in the cell membrane that is expressed on the surface of cancer cells. It also binds to hl-60 cells, which have been found to be resistant to other cancer treatments. The leaf extract of Nigra plants contain Icariside B1, which has shown anticancer activity against leukemia and lymphoma cell lines. Icariside B1 is also a potent inhibitor of degranulation in mast cells, which are responsible for allergic reactions.
