Tetrabutylphosphonium Benzotriazolate (TBPA) is an inorganic compound that has a divalent hydrocarbon group, a crosslinker, and fluorine. It reacts with proton to form hydrogen fluoride and is used as a catalyst for the polymerization of polyols. TBPA can be activated by irradiation or heat, and is reactive with functional groups. The compound is soluble in organic solvents such as alcohols. It has been shown to be thermally stable up to 300°C and has been used in the manufacturing of polyvinyl chloride plastics.
