1H,2H,3H-pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridin-2-one is an optical isomer of pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridine that can be synthesized in the laboratory. It has been used to treat chronic pain and depression. It also has been shown to improve cognitive function in patients with Alzheimer's disease. 1H,2H,3H-pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridin-2-one has a fluorine atom that confers resistance to symptoms of psychosis and nervous system imbalances. The enantiomer of this compound is (1R*, 2S*)-1-(4'-fluorophenyl)-1-(4'-chlorophenyl)ethanone.
