Amino-PEG3-CH2CO2H is a factor receptor, which binds to epidermal growth factor (EGF) and other members of the EGF family. Amino-PEG3-CH2CO2H has been shown to inhibit kinase activity in the tyrosine kinase domain and stabilize cell membrane receptors that bind to EGFR. This compound is also known as PEGylated amino acid 3, which was modified with a poly(ethylene glycol) molecule containing three amino groups. The addition of this linker increases the length of the peptide chain, allowing for greater binding affinity.
