Description:

4-(trans-2-Carboxyvinyl)phenylboronic acid (4-TCBPA) is a boron-containing compound that can be used for the treatment of various cancers. It has been shown to be effective against tumor tissue, tumor growth, and cancer in vivo. 4-TCBPA has been found to have a high biodistribution in the body, with a high concentration in tumors and tissues. This compound also has photodynamic properties and can be activated by irradiation. 4-TCBPA binds to DNA by intercalating between base pairs and inhibits DNA synthesis by inhibiting the enzyme RNA polymerase II. This results in the inhibition of protein synthesis and cell division, leading to cell death.
