Description:

Ciproxifan is a drug that has been shown to have a potent antagonistic effect on histamine H1 receptors. It is used for the treatment of metabolic disorders, brain function, locomotor activity, and drug interactions. Ciproxifan is metabolized by the liver into its active form, ciprofloxacin. The metabolism of ciproxifan involves hydroxylation of the methyl group and oxidation of the hydroxyl group. The resulting metabolites are excreted in urine and bile. Ciproxifan has shown effectiveness in treating symptoms related to allergies, including hay fever and urticaria. Ciproxifan also has anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
