Description

2-Ethyl-2-methacryloyloxyadamantane is a polymerizable monomer. It is used in the synthesis of polymers, which are used in a variety of applications, such as coatings, adhesives and sealants. 2-Ethyl-2-methacryloyloxyadamantane can be functionalized with various functionalities that allow for the synthesis of polymers with different properties. The crosslink density can be controlled by varying the ratio of 2-ethyl-2-methacryloyloxyadamantane to triflic acid during copolymerization. This monomer has been shown to have good compatibility with hydroxystyrene, allowing for copolymerization to form homo or co block polymers.
