Product Information
Lopinavir is a drug that blocks the HIV-1 protease enzyme and prevents the cleavage of polyproteins into functional proteins. It is also used to treat chronic hepatitis B virus infections as well as chlamydia, herpes simplex virus, and simplex virus type 2 infections in women. Lopinavir may be useful in vaccine development against cancer and other diseases caused by viruses. Lopinavir has been shown to increase cell growth by enhancing the activity of the human macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF) receptor on cells. This drug has also been shown to inhibit tumor growth in mice by suppressing angiogenesis.
