1,2-Dibromo-4-iodobenzene is an organic compound that is a high molecular weight polymer that is insoluble in water. It has a melting point of around 130°C and a boiling point of 150°C. 1,2-Dibromo-4-iodobenzene is used as a monomer for the production of polymers with high thermal stability and high molecular weights. This molecule can be polymerized to form a variety of different types of polymers. 1,2-Dibromo-4-iodobenzene also has the ability to desilylate other molecules found in membranes.
