Product Information
- Tetrakis[(S)-(+)-(1-adamantyl)-(N-phthalimido)acetato]dirhodium(II)Rh2(S-PTAD)4
Rh2(S-PTAD)4 is a ligand that is activated by the addition of an electron. The asymmetric synthesis of this molecule has been accomplished by using a model system, in which a vinyl ether was used as a precursor to produce the ligand. Hydride transfer was then used to synthesize the necessary dihydropyridazine rings. X-ray analysis revealed that Rh2(S-PTAD)4 has stereogenic centers and functional theory calculations confirmed that it can be considered a chiral ligand in its enantiomeric form. Synthesis of this molecule was achieved through an isolated yield and tetrahydropyridazine as starting material.
