Product Information
Omeprazole-d3 is a benzimidazole that is labelled with the radioactive isotope 3H. Omeprazole-d3 has been used to study the pharmacokinetics of omeprazole in humans. The drug is absorbed rapidly in humans and has a plasma concentration-time curve that peaks at about 4 hours after ingestion. Omeprazole-d3 is metabolized by CYP2C19 and CYP3A4, which are cytochrome P450 enzymes in human liver. It also inhibits cell growth in culture due to its ability to inhibit the activity of protein kinase C. Omeprazole-d3 has been used as a probe for detecting CYP2C19 activity and can be used as an analytical chemistry tool for measuring the concentrations of other drugs metabolized by this enzyme, such as pioglitazone.
