LY-294,002 hydrochloride is a potent and selective ligand for P2Y receptors. It is a synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro. LY-294,002 hydrochloride binds to the P2Y receptor on the cell surface, which activates cation channels. This leads to an increase in intracellular calcium levels, which can cause cell death. LY-294,002 hydrochloride has also been found to inhibit protease activity in human cancer cells and induce apoptosis by activating glucocorticoid receptors.
