Visomitin
Description:
Visomitin is a drug that has antioxidant activity and is used to treat inflammation. It inhibits the transfer of electrons from NADPH to oxygen, which leads to the inhibition of oxidation reactions. Visomitin also prevents mitochondrial electron transport and blocks reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. This drug has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in vivo models and reduces locomotor activity in rats with myocardial infarcts. Visomitin can be used as an adjunct therapy for patients with chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or Crohn's disease.
