Description:

(2S,3S,5S)-5-Amino-1,6-diphenyl-2-(thiazol-5-ylmethoxycarbonylamino)hexan-3-yl 2-(3-((2-isopropylthiazol-4-yl)methyl)-3-methylureido)-3 -methylbutanoate hydrochloride (Pd(II)) is a chiral molecule that has been used as a catalyst in the synthesis of benzyl and dl phenylalanines. The reaction was achieved with hexane as the solvent and grignard reagents were used as intermediates. The final product was isolated by distillation and purified by column chromatography. Pd(II) is an impurity in this reaction due to its high boiling point.
