5-Chloro-1H-indol-2-yl)-(4-methylpiperazin-1-yl)methanone (CPM) is an experimental drug that has been shown to inhibit the release of calcium ions from intracellular stores in mast cells. It inhibits the production of eosinophil peroxidase and induces a functional response in mice. CPM also demonstrated an inhibitory effect on tumor cell lines and light emission, suggesting the potential for use as a drug target for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. CPM has been shown to reduce allergic symptoms in mice by inhibiting histamine release from mast cells.
