Product Information

Name:
Ampicillin amino-benzeneacetaldehyde
Description:

Ampicillin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections. It binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit and inhibits protein synthesis by preventing the formation of an antibiotic-inhibitor complex with the enzyme cell wall synthesis that is required for cell wall biosynthesis, inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division. Ampicillin has been shown to have antiviral properties against influenza virus, herpes simplex virus, Epstein-Barr virus, and adenovirus. It also has antiparasitic activity against Plasmodium falciparum. Ampicillin is synthetically derived from natural penicillins such as penicillin G and penicillin V. The drug is available in high purity in analytical grade, pharmaceutical grade, and food grade.
