2H-Chromene-3-carboxamide is a hydrogen bond donor that has been shown to increase light emission in neurons. It has been used as a treatment for patients with Parkinson's disease, where it was shown to minimise the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. 2H-Chromene-3-carboxamide reversibly binds to the voltage gated potassium channels in the neuron, which causes the opening of the potassium ion channel and an influx of potassium ions. This leads to a decrease in blood pressure and an increase in waveguide capacity. 2H-Chromene-3-carboxamide also binds reversibly to skin tissue, leading to deformation and changes in transistor behaviour. The drug is not active against body mass index, but may be useful for treating diabetes mellitus type II.
