1,4-Butanediol bis(thioglycolate) is a difunctional crosslinking agent for polymers. It is also used as a monomer and a glycol in the production of polyurethanes. This product can be used to make water-absorbing materials, coatings, and adhesives. 1,4-Butanediol bis(thioglycolate) has been shown to have average transition temperatures of around 50°C and is experimentally soluble in water.
