Description:
2,2,4-Trimethyl-1-oxa-4-aza-2-silacyclohexane is a chlorinating agent that can be used to generate hypochlorous acid. It reacts with water to form hydrogen chloride and hypochlorite ion. 2,2,4-Trimethyl-1-oxa-4-aza-2-silacyclohexane has been used in the synthesis of polyurethane materials and as a reagent in organic synthesis. It is also commonly used to generate chlorinated solvent mixtures for use in dry cleaning.
