Product Information
- (4Z)-non-4-ene
Cis-4-Nonene is an organic compound that belongs to the class of fluorinated alkanes. It has a chemical formula of CnH2n and a molecular weight of 114.17 g/mol. The geometric isomers of cis-4-nonene are cis-4-decene, trans-4-decene, and trans-3-octene. Cis-4-Nonene can be synthesized by dehydroxylating 2,6,8trimethylcyclohexa-1,5,7triene with molybdenum in the presence of an organosilicon compound. This reaction produces two products: cis 4 nonene and 1,2dichlorocyclopentane. The glycan group on this molecule has been shown to react with aldehydes such as formaldehyde or acetaldehyde to form Schiff bases.
