Product Information
6-Methoxy-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine is a potential antitumor agent that has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of tumor cells by disrupting the process of microtubule formation. It causes tubulin polymerization to stop and disrupts the cycle at the G2/M phase. 6-Methoxy-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine also inhibits angiogenesis, which is the process of new blood vessel growth. This compound has been shown to have anti-angiogenic effects in mice by inhibiting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression and preventing VEGF from binding to receptors on endothelial cells. 6-Methoxy-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine also exhibits anti-proliferative activity against human breast cancer cells in culture.
