Product Information
- Non-1-En-4-Ol
- (4S)-non-1-en-4-ol
- (4R)-non-1-en-4-ol
Non-1-en-4-ol is a cofactor that is used in the synthesis of difluoride. It is produced by chemoenzymatic synthesis from benzaldehyde and acetic acid with the aid of sodium bicarbonate as a catalyst. Non-1-en-4-ol can be converted to cyclopentanone using hydrazine and nitrous oxide, which are generated in situ. Non-1-en-4-ol has been shown to have dehydrogenase activity, which may be due to its ability to bind electrons at the phenolic oxygen atom. Non-1-en-4 -ol has been used in kinetic modelling studies for iodotoluene, where it is shown that non -1 -en -4 -ol can act as a synthon for iodotoluene and other aromatic compounds.
