Description:

2-(1-Ethoxypropylidene)malononitrile (2-EPOM) is a novel small molecule drug that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of diabetes, impairment and depression. 2-EPOM works by inhibiting glutamate receptors and reducing the amount of glutamate released. It also inhibits alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. 2-EPOM has not been evaluated for toxicity in humans or animals, but has shown to have low toxicity in cell cultures. The compound also exhibits good bioavailability after oral administration, as well as a long half life time.
