Dihydrofluorescein diacetate is a fluorescent compound that has been used to measure the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in biological systems. This chemical is used to study the effects of radiation, such as ionizing radiation, on cells and to measure the efficacy of antioxidants. It has also been shown to have anti-oxidative effects in vitro assays. In addition, dihydrofluorescein diacetate has been shown to inhibit light-induced oxidative damage in skin cells and gland cells.
