Product Information

Name:
3-(2-Hydroxyphenyl)acrylaldehyde
Description:

3-(2-Hydroxyphenyl)acrylaldehyde is an activated form of phenylacetic acid and is a potent inhibitor of angiogenesis, which is the formation of new blood vessels. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vivo. 3-(2-Hydroxyphenyl)acrylaldehyde binds to DNA and inhibits the activity of transcription factors, such as nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB), which plays a role in inflammation. The compound also inhibits cyclin D1, which regulates cell cycle progression and cell proliferation. 3-(2-Hydroxyphenyl)acrylaldehyde has been shown to be effective against human colon cancer cells in vitro and sw620 cells in vivo.
