It is a potentiating agent that enhances the effects of other drugs, such as aminopyridine, which acts as a tranquilizer and muscle relaxant. 5-Chloro-4-quinazolone can be used to treat spasms of the urinary bladder and uterus. This drug also has an anti-inflammatory effect on the nervous system, which may be due to its ability to block nerve transmission by inhibiting the release of acetylcholine from nerve endings.
