JMJD Histone Demethylase Inhibitor IV, Methylstat is a drug that inhibits the protein methyltransferase and is used to treat cancer. It has been shown to induce apoptosis in hl-60 cells by inhibiting histone proteins and altering the structure of the genome. JMJD Histone Demethylase Inhibitor IV, Methylstat also has an effect on mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) and induces cell cycle arrest. This drug is administered orally or intravenously and is currently undergoing clinical trials for treatment of cancer.
