Product Information
5-(Bromomethyl)-undecane (5-BMAU) is an acceptor that can be used to make solar cells. This compound has a low ionization potential and is a good candidate for use in photovoltaic devices. 5-BMAU is synthesized by the Suzuki coupling reaction and can be used in low-energy, semiconducting applications, such as solar cells or electronic devices. The synthesis process involves the transfer of bromine from bromine gas to an alkyl iodide. The molecule is then heated and cooled to produce 5-BMAU. Solvents are often used during this process and must be removed before 5-BMAU can be used.
