Product Information
- Benzaldehyde, 2-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-
2-(4-Methylpiperazin-1-yl)benzaldehyde is a synthetic anticancer agent that inhibits cell proliferation by binding to the active site of topoisomerase II, an enzyme that regulates the unwinding and rewinding of DNA. 2-(4-Methylpiperazin-1-yl)benzaldehyde also prevents the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). The cytotoxic activity of 2-(4-Methylpiperazin-1-yl)benzaldehyde was evaluated using flow cytometric analysis and cytometric analysis in cancer cells. It has been shown to be effective against a number of cancer cell lines such as MCF7, Jurkat, and HL60.
