Albrassitriol is a phytochemical that belongs to the class of secondary metabolites. It is isolated from the plant genus Alpinia, which includes plants like A. amboinensis, A. roxburghii and A. curtisii. Albrassitriol has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties in vitro and can be used as a reference material for HPLC standards, analytical standards and reference materials. Albrassitriol has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α in mouse macrophage cells by preventing the transcriptional activation of NF-κB.
