Product Information
Succinimido o-toluate is a potent inhibitor of the p2y receptor, which is a membrane protein responsible for activating the synthesis of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) in response to uracil nucleotides. The p2y receptor has been shown to be present in the bladder and can lead to urinary tract infections. Succinimido o-toluate also inhibits glutamate release, which may reduce bladder spasms and frequency of urination. Succinimido o-toluate has been shown to have potent inhibitory activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). This drug also binds to DNA polymerase and could interfere with the transcription process. It is not yet clear whether succinimido o-toluate will interact with other drugs that are metabolized by this enzyme.
