Product Information
The FSB staining solution is a transcription-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) reagent with a broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity. It is used for the detection and identification of bacteria in clinical specimens such as blood, cerebrospinal fluid, and wound exudates. FSB staining solution contains an antibody that binds to surface glycoproteins on Gram-negative bacteria. The solution is applied to the specimen and incubated at 37°C for 30 minutes. The bound antibody will then be detected by the addition of a second monoclonal antibody conjugated to horseradish peroxidase or alkaline phosphatase. The presence of fluorescence indicates the presence of Gram-negative bacterial cells in the specimen.
