Liquidambaric Lactone is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that has been researched for its potential to be used in the treatment of skin conditions, such as atopic dermatitis. The compound has also been studied for its effect on endothelial cell proliferation and angiogenesis. The mechanism of action is not yet well understood, but it may inhibit the synthesis of fatty acids and collagen by inhibiting the enzyme 15-lipoxygenase. It has been shown to have anti-angiogenic effects in rats with induced skin cancer.
